18-year-old Lutu scoops gold in Senior Girls Triple Jump for MGM

Kelena Lutu of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School was all smiles as she claimed the gold medal with a jump of 11.56 metres in the Senior Girls Triple Jump at the 2026 Coca-Cola Games.

The 18-year-old Lutu dedicated her gold medal to her friend, who is also participating for the MGM team and recently lost her mother.

Lutu, who is originally from Dravuwalu, shares that the gold medal was not an easy one to win, as she had to balance the term-end exam preparations with training.

The 18-year-old credited God, her parents, coaches, the principal, and the teachers of MGM for supporting her throughout her training.

Lutu wished her other team members all the best as they continue to compete in various events.

Meanwhile, Losana Cakau of Suva Grammar School claimed the silver medal while Serenia Lawakeli of Jasper Williams High School took the bronze medal.

The Coca Cola Games continues at the HFC Bank Stadium.
