Two people questioned for alleged fraud

Police are warning traders to be vigilant in dealing with unregistered persons wanting to trade with large sums of money after a Director of a vehicle spare parts company discovered a dishonoured cheque.

The victim received a cheque from a woman in her late 30s who wanted to buy vehicle parts.

Police say a woman used a cheque worth more than $89,000 for the parts but it was later discovered to be dishonoured when deposited.

A team of officers in the Southern Division were tasked with the investigations whereby they have arrested the woman and her husband who are being questioned at the Valelevu Police Station.

Investigators also made recoveries from a vacant house in Nadi.

Investigations continue.
