More than 250 people in Navuso in Naitasiri are expected to benefit from upgraded sanitation facilities at the Navuso Agricultural Technical Institute following the commissioning of a new ablution block by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Mosese Bulitavu.
The Ministry says the project was implemented under its High-Risk Water and Sanitation Programme, and it reflects Government’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure, strengthening public health in rural communities, and supporting quality education for students across Fiji.

They say the project included the renovation of existing facilities and the construction of a new modern sanitation block to provide safe, functional, and hygienic facilities for students, staff, and visitors.
It was funded at a cost of more than $15,000.
The Ministry says the upgraded facilities will also support approximately 30 households in the surrounding community through improved hygiene, sanitation, and community use during events and gatherings.

Bulitavu acknowledged the contributions of the institute leadership, community members, and stakeholders, highlighting that investments in sanitation and rural infrastructure are investments in health, education, and the future of Fiji’s rural communities.
