The Urata Community Library was officially opened by the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, as part of Government efforts to strengthen literacy and improve access to learning resources.

The opening, held to mark World Book and Copyright Day, adds to a total of 33 community libraries established since 2012, expanding learning opportunities and access to reading materials for rural communities.
Radrodro says that national literacy rates have improved, but challenges remain in rural areas.

He emphasised that community libraries provide safe, inclusive spaces for reading, research and student support beyond school hours.
He also states that the Government continues to invest in library services across schools and communities to ensure equitable access to education for all learners.

Radrodro adds the Urata Community Library reflects the Ministry's commitment to strengthening literacy, supporting student success, and promoting inclusive national development.
