Hearing date set for Rabuka’s stay application in Malimali ruling case on 1st June
The hearing on Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s stay application on High Court's decision that found Barbara Malimali's dismissal as FICAC Commissioner to be unlawful will be on the 1st of June.

The matter will be heard before Suva High Court Judge, Justice Dane Tuiqereqere.

Justice Tuiqereqere is the same judge who ruled in February that Malimali's dismissal was unlawful.

Lawyer Kevin Skiba from Valenitabua & Associates appeared for the Prime Minister, while Samuela Savu appeared on behalf of former FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali.

The court heard that no response was received from the State.

Skiba informed the court that no reply affidavits had been received from either the Attorney-General's Office or the President's Office in response to Malimali's affidavit opposing the stay application.

The Prime Minister's counsel has been given until the 22nd of May to file their submission, while Savu has been given until the 28th of May to file an affidavit in response.
