Although she once aspired to enter the medical field, it was her father’s dream of seeing her become a lawyer that shaped her path, and he often referred to her as the lawyer of the family due to her talkative and argumentative nature.
Nisha's working life began in retail, where she worked as a retail assistant before moving into administrative roles, and she eventually joined the Tappoo Group as a Retail Administrator during her third year of study.
She maintained a demanding routine while studying at the Saweni Campus in Lautoka, where she was working from 8am to 4.30pm before attending classes until 8pm, often repeating the cycle seven days a week while managing four law units each semester.
Despite the intense workload and exhaustion, she remained focused on her goal, saying the experience strengthened her discipline and taught her the importance of making every day count.
Her biggest challenge came during her fourth year when she travelled to India with her father for medical treatment, which turned critical when he required a redo bypass surgery.
Even during that difficult period, Nisha continued her studies online, waking up at 3am to attend classes and keep up with her coursework.
She credits her success to the strong support from her workplace and the University of Fiji, where lecturers and the Dean of the School of Law allowed her to attend classes virtually while caring for her father.
Nisha hopes to build a career in criminal and family law.
