Lui Rabale of Nakorovou Village in Kubulau achieved this milestone through determination, smart use of resources, and Government support.
His new home was officially commissioned by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Mosese Bulitavu.

Rabale funded his contribution through yaqona farming, planting 500 plants while studying at the Tutu Training Centre in Taveuni.
He later earned about $15,000 from the harvest and used more than $8,000 towards building his home, while saving the rest for future plans.
He also has another 1,000 yaqona plants nearing harvest.

Bulitavu commended Rabale, describing him as a model for young people and highlighting the programme’s role in improving living standards in rural communities.
The Government is encouraging more young people to take advantage of such opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods.

Rabale is now urging other youths to make use of available resources and remain committed to their goals.
