As a joint investigation into the gas explosion at the Zamzam Restaurant in Samabula begins, one of the 9 victims have been discharged from the hospital, while two continue to remain on life support.
Police say the remaining victims continue to receive treatment at CWM Hospital.
Police and the National Fire Authority are working together to determine exactly what caused the incident.
They say initial information suggests the incident may have been caused by a gas leak, however authorities say the official report will confirm the exact cause.
The gas cylinder explosion occurred in the kitchen and the restaurant's dining area was not affected by the blaze.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Zamzam Restaurant Customer Service representative, Dileleah Grace says four of their staff and three staff of Blue Gas suffered serious burns.
While visiting her staff at the hospital, Zamzam Restaurant owner, Rashida Dean says she is saddened by the unfortunate incident which has seriously affected her staff.
She also says she has given her statement to the Police on the gas cylinder explosion and the issues leading up to that time.
