More than 300 paddlers are set to compete in the Wai Tui International competition at Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi this Easter weekend.
Event organizers say the competition is returning after 14 years, bringing together teams from around the world.
They have also emphasised their commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and abuse-free environment for all children.
Jake Suitaloa from New Zealand says preparations for the competition have been going well, although the conditions have been challenging.
Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Suitaloa says their training has included extensive sprint and endurance work to adapt to Fiji’s humid climate.
He added that he is excited to take part this year and hopes to create unforgettable memories.
The Wai Tui International will begin today and run through to Sunday.
