Tikoduadua says Police and RFMF investigations underway into attempted break-ins at RFMF facilities
While Police and military investigations continue, Minister for Defence, Pio Tikoduadua says he is aware of the reported incidents at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces facilities in Lautoka and Nabua.

Tikoduadua says both matters have been formally reported to the Fiji Police Force and are currently under investigation, alongside internal investigations being conducted by the RFMF.

The Minister says he has been assured that no arms or ammunition have been removed or compromised.

Tikoduadua says the RFMF assures him that they will strengthen security measures across its installations and to maintain heightened vigilance.

Further information will be provided once investigations are concluded.

Police are yet to comment.

The RFMF has confirmed in a statement that attempts were made by unknown individuals to gain unauthorized access to certain RFMF establishments within the past two weeks and after a thorough inspection and stock-take, the RFMF can categorically confirm that no weapons, ammunition, or related equipment are missing.

RFMF Commander Major General Jone Logavatu Kalouniwai says due to the robust security systems in place, these attempts were unsuccessful.

The Commander reassures the public that the safety and security of all weapons and ammunition remain intact, and there is no threat to public safety arising from this incident.
