Golf legend Tiger Woods has been charged with driving under the influence following a crash in Florida.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says Woods also faces charges of property damage and refusing a lawful test after his vehicle rolled while overtaking a truck at high speed on Beach Road in Jupiter Island. No injuries were reported.
Police confirmed Woods recorded zero alcohol on a breathalyser but refused a urine test.
Officers say he showed signs of impairment during roadside checks.
Woods was arrested and is expected to be released on bail, with all charges classified as misdemeanours.
This is not the first driving-related incident involving Woods.
In 2017, he was found asleep in his vehicle and later admitted to reckless driving.
He was also involved in a high-profile crash in 2009 outside his Florida home.
The latest incident comes as Woods continues to recover from multiple injuries, including an Achilles tendon rupture in 2025 and back surgery last year.
He had recently returned to competitive golf in the TGL indoor league and had been aiming to compete in the upcoming Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club, where he has won five titles.
However, this latest development casts further doubt on his participation in the tournament, which begins in less than two weeks.
