Rabuka urges Fijians to embrace peace, love and compassion this Christmas
The birth of Jesus Christ ushered in a message of hope, salvation, and peace that continues to resonate across generations and nations.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says that Jesus’ message of peace, love, service, and compassion touched many lives then, and it continues to guide and inspire us today.

Rabuka says the same message is the one he wishes to share with everyone this Christmas.

He says that through selfless sacrifice, God our Creator and His Son, Jesus Christ, revealed the true meaning of peace and goodwill towards all humanity.

He says this is a peace that is not merely the absence of conflict, but one rooted in justice, forgiveness, and love for one another.

The Prime Minister also states that individually, as families, and as members of our villages, settlements, towns, and suburbs, we should strive to emulate this life of selfless sacrifice — a life that puts others before ourselves, showing compassion, care, and understanding in all that we do.

Rabuka adds that we must also reflect on how we treat one another in the digital space, urging people to be more mindful, respectful, and loving in their interactions on social media.

He adds that words have power, and we must use them to uplift, not to divide.

Rabuka says that as we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace, he urges all Fijians to commit themselves to peace within their homes, within their communities, and in our nation.

The Prime Minister also states that Fiji has long been admired for its harmony among diverse cultures, faiths, and traditions, and urges everyone to safeguard this legacy and continue to be a voice for peace and cooperation in the Pacific region and the wider world.

He says that in a time when global tensions persist, Fiji must stand firm as a nation, guided by dialogue, respect, and goodwill.

He urges everyone to look to one another and be instruments of peace and kindness this Christmas.

He adds that together, we will continue working towards a Fiji that is inclusive, prosperous, and secure for future generations.
