President calls on Fijians to strengthen unity and compassion this Christmas
President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu
As Fiji joins the world in celebrating Christmas, President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu has called on all citizens to use the festive season as a time to strengthen unity, show compassion, and care for those in need.

In his Christmas message, the President says that as people gather to celebrate the joy of Christmas, they are reminded of the enduring promise revealed through the birth of Jesus Christ — a promise of peace, redemption, and unshakable hope.

President Lalabalavu emphasised that Christmas calls on people to embrace the values of love, compassion, humility, and forgiveness, describing them as pillars of strong societies.

He also highlighted continued economic recovery, strengthened health and education services, and a renewed commitment to protecting the nation’s environment and natural resources.

The President acknowledged Fijians living abroad, saying their contributions, prayers, and enduring connection to the country remain an important part of Fiji’s national story.

As the nation prepares to enter the new year, President Lalabalavu urged citizens to renew their commitment to unity, understanding, and respect, and to work together to build a Fiji where every child grows with hope and every community is strengthened by peace.

He further encouraged people to reach out to those in need during the festive season, reminding them that a neighbour can be anyone, regardless of ethnicity, language, or religion.

The President says that through collective effort and God’s grace, Fiji will continue to move forward stronger, more united, and filled with hope.
