PM opens upgraded FRCS Lautoka Office to boost public service
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officially opened the newly refurbished Fiji Revenue and Customs Service Lautoka Office at Tavewa Avenue, marking a major step in the Government’s efforts to strengthen public service delivery and support economic growth.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rabuka says the upgraded facility goes beyond modern infrastructure, it represents a strategic investment in a responsive, accessible, and people-centred public service.

He says this initiative reflects their commitment to institutions that serve our people, support our economy, and uphold the principles of good governance, accountability and transparency.

The Prime Minister highlighted the key role of FRCS in national priorities, operating at the intersection of revenue collection and border management, critical pillars of economic management and security.

Rabuka says FRCS is not only a revenue collector, it ensures public resources are mobilised and managed with integrity.

He also stressed the importance of adapting to global challenges, including evolving border systems and rising risks of transnational crime and illicit trade, noting the Government’s push for a coordinated and integrated approach across agencies.

The upgraded Lautoka office also strengthens decentralisation and improves access to essential services for communities in the Western Division.

Acknowledging Lautoka as Fiji’s second city and a major economic hub, Prime Minister says the office reinforces regional development and unlocks economic potential across the Western Division.

He commended the leadership and staff of FRCS and all stakeholders involved in the project, calling the facility “a symbol of modern governance, inclusive service delivery, and our shared commitment to a stronger, more resilient Fiji.”
