Notice of non-essential goverment office closure

Notice of non-essential goverment office closure
Non-essential Government offices will be closed from Christmas until the 2nd of January, 2026.

This has been approved by the Public Service Commission. Members of the public who may require services from non-essential Government agencies are encouraged to do so before the closure period to avoid any inconvenience.

Acting Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service, Pita Tagicakirewa says that all essential services will remain fully operational, with appropriate staffing arrangements in place to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of critical public services.

He says that Permanent Secretaries will have the discretion to determine whether skeleton staff are required to maintain specific services and to put in place suitable rosters and coverage arrangements where necessary.

Tagicakirewa adds that this shutdown period provides an opportunity for civil servants to rest and spend quality time with their families and loved ones over the festive season.
