Navosa Central College is set to receive a new gym facility aimed at supporting local youth, promoting fitness, and strengthening community wellbeing.

The project comes in response to a request from the people of Navosa, who highlighted the need for accessible training and fitness resources in the district.

Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Inosi Kuridrani highlighted that the gym will reduce the cost and burden of travel for residents who currently have to journey to Sigatoka to access gym facilities.

He says the project is about empowering youth, reducing barriers, and strengthening community ties.

Kuridrani also emphasised the wider benefits for the community, explaining that visits to the gym could be linked with the newly reintroduced collection centre, allowing farmers and families to bring their produce while using the facility.

He says that the gym would serve as a positive outlet for youth, helping to address issues such as drug use while encouraging healthy lifestyles.

The Assistant Minister says the gym is a way of giving back to the community, as it will benefit Navosa rugby, Navosa youth, students, and everyone in the district.

Kuridrani was accompanied on the site visit by his sons, who are well-known rugby players, lending their expertise to ensure the gym meets international training standards and caters to the needs of local athletes.
