Manchester United begin search for new manager after Amorim sacking
Manchester United have begun the search for a new manager following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim after just 14 months in charge.

Amorim was sacked yesterday after his latest public criticism of the club’s hierarchy, bringing another short-lived managerial reign at Old Trafford to an end.

United currently sit sixth on the Premier League table and remain in contention for Champions League qualification next season.

BBC Sport reports that former midfielder Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team for the next few matches, with the club expected to appoint a caretaker manager to see out the remainder of the campaign.

Attention has now turned to who could be handed the role on a permanent basis in the summer.

With the tenures of Erik ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick and Amorim all ending unsuccessfully, there is growing debate over whether United should turn to a manager with proven Premier League experience.
