LTA urges extra road caution after tragic death of 3 yr old boy in Sigatoka
Following the tragic death of a three-year-old boy from Kulukulu, Sigatoka, the Land Transport Authority is urging drivers to exercise extra caution on the roads, and parents and guardians to closely supervise children.

According to Police, the boy was hit by a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old woman in Sigatoka Town while he was crossing the road with his grandmother.

LTA Chief Executive Officer Irimaia Rokosawa says children are among the most vulnerable road users, and their safety depends heavily on responsible driving and active adult supervision.

Rokosawa warns that even a momentary lapse in attention can result in devastating consequences.

He adds that while drivers carry a major responsibility, pedestrians, parents and caregivers must also prioritise road safety to help prevent such tragic incidents.

The driver is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing
