Great news for residents of Lautoka City, as they can benefit from a free disaster clean-up initiative with the Lautoka City Council rolling out a special green waste collection service following the impact of TC Vaianu.
The Council confirms the clean-up will run from next Monday to Saturday, focusing strictly on the removal of green waste generated by the recent cyclone.
Head of Service Shalend Singh is urging residents to take advantage of the initiative while following guidelines to ensure smooth collection.
Singh stresses that this is a mini free collection service strictly for disaster green waste only, including tree branches, stems, leaves, and garden trimmings caused by TC Vaianu.
Singh also warns that any non-green waste, such as white goods, corrugated iron, vehicle parts, drums, containers, or construction materials, will not be collected for free, and normal refuse charges will apply.
