For the first time, the Labasa Market Vendors Association is working together with the Labasa Town Council to identify drug-related cases in the Labasa market area.
Labasa Town Council Chair Paul Jaduram stresses that they will be identifying those who are involved in illegal activities in association with the Police Post in Labasa.
He emphasises that the Labasa Police also have a Police Post in the market area and are collaborating with the Vendors Association to detect crimes, including drug-related offences.
Jaduram adds that while people often complain about the Police, it is important to understand that their job involves high risk, stressing that there are elements that cannot be controlled by the Police Force.
He also highlights that the general public should understand the risks associated with police officers’ duties, further stressing the incident where a police officer was hit by a truck while carrying out his duties.
