Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has made a striking debut at the Met Gala, showcasing Indian culture on the global stage.
Johar appeared in a custom-designed outfit by renowned designer Manish Malhotra, inspired by the artwork of Raja Ravi Varma.
Sharing details on social media, Johar described the look as “Framed in Eternity,” saying the inspiration behind it reflects the way Raja Ravi Varma expressed emotions through his paintings, similar to storytelling in cinema.
He also thanked Malhotra, calling him his oldest partner in crime and fashion, for bringing the vision to life and helping present Indian craftsmanship on an international platform.
