Finance Minister Esrom Immanuel is urging Fijians to embrace unity, resilience, and hope as the nation marks Easter.
In his Easter message, Immanuel says the season is not only a time of reflection and renewal, but also a reminder of sacrifice and the enduring strength of hope in the face of adversity.
He stresses that the message of Easter—triumph of light over darkness and life over despair—remains especially relevant as Fiji continues to face economic uncertainty, climate pressures, and social change.
The Minister says the government remains committed to building a resilient and inclusive economy that creates opportunities for all Fijians, whether in urban centres, rural communities or maritime islands.
He adds that the nation’s strength lies not only in policy, but in the people—workers, farmers, entrepreneurs and families—who continue to contribute to Fiji’s progress.
Immanuel is also encouraging Fijians to reflect on both past challenges and future possibilities, while renewing their commitment to unity and responsible stewardship of resources.
He emphasised the importance of supporting those who may be struggling to ensure no one is left behind.
Looking ahead, Immanuel says discipline, innovation and shared responsibility will be key as Government works towards shaping the country’s economic future, including through the upcoming national budget.
He adds that nation-building is a shared journey and is calling on Fijians to contribute their ideas and participation.
Immanuel wished all Fijians a blessed, peaceful, and meaningful Easter.
