High Court to rule on appeal against Kishore Kumar’s suspended sentence on March 26th

The Suva High Court will deliver its ruling on the 26th of March in the matter where Assistant DPP Laisani Tabuakuro has appealed Kishore Kumar's 1 year and 10 months suspended sentence for multiple charges of online harm and criminal intimidation.

Tabuakuro says the sentence is too lenient as it does not protect the victim and act as a deterrent and an adequate rehabilitation.

She says they want Kumar to deactivate his facebook page 'Kishore Kumar Publications'.

The Assistant DPP has also called for Kumar to be fined or be imprisoned as this is his second conviction.

She also says Kumar should get counselling and medication at St Giles Hospital.

Tabuakuro says Kumar must also issue an apology to Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Speaker Lenora Qereqeretabua.

She says this is to remind the members of the public to engage respectfully and they cannot make racist or sexist comments that are false and malicious.
