The father of a man who died after being hit by a vehicle in Labasa last week is questioning the actions of police following the incident and is calling for a full investigation.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Adinarayan Reddy of Qelewaqa in Labasa, whose son Magnesh Reddy died after being hit by a vehicle driven by a man in his 20s along the Wailevu Stretch in Labasa, says he is seeking answers from police, particularly on how officers at the scene were able to declare his son dead.
He questioned whether police officers are medically qualified to make such a determination and raised concerns over the handling of his son’s body, which he claims remained on the road for more than two hours before being removed.
He has called on police to thoroughly investigate the matter and provide clear answers regarding the procedures followed at the scene of the accident.
