2 of the 9 burn victims of the gas cylinder explosion in the kitchen of Zamzam Restaurant in Samabula yesterday afternoon, remain on life support while the rest are on Inhalation Burn Treatment and Facial Burn Treatment.
The Ministry of Health says doctors at the CWM Hospital's Emergency Department are doing their utmost best in treating the burn victims.
fijivillage News received confirmation that CWM Hospital had activated a Level 1 response.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Zamzam Restaurant Customer Service representative, Dileleah Grace says four of their staff and three staff of Blue Gas suffered serious burns and were taken to the CWM Hospital for medical assistance.
While visiting her staff at the hospital, Zamzam Restaurant owner, Rashida Dean says she is saddened by the unfortunate incident which has seriously affected her staff.
She also says she has given her statement to the Police on the gas cylinder explosion and the issues leading up to that time.
The gas cylinder explosion occurred in the kitchen and the restaurant's dining area was not affected by the blaze.
Police and National Fire Authority are conducting their investigations.
