Former Fiji and Suva football representatives took to the streets of Suva early this morning, leading a clean-up campaign at the Suva Bus Station as part of their first-quarter community project.
The Suva Masters Football Legends, a club of 60 active members made up of former Fiji and Suva representatives such as William Lasaqa, Nimilote Kerevi and Ravinesh Murti, stepped out in the early hours to clean streets and pavements, picking up even the smallest bits of rubbish.

Other former representatives from districts such as Manoa Masi, a national Ba representative, and Ratu Jone Vatukatakata also joined in.
Other members of the club include Meretino Nemani, George Samisoni, Aisea Mocelutu, Opetaia Ravai, Ratu Suliano Matanitobua and George Brown.

Senior member Isimeli Bola, who has been with the group since it started in 2012, says this is about grassroots awareness.
Bola says real change starts with individuals taking ownership, and keeping our environment clean is a civil responsibility we all share.
He adds that today was not just about cleaning a space, it was about reminding all of us that every action counts.

The Suva City Council says there were no jerseys or cheering crowds, just quiet leadership in action.
It says that many early market-goers were surprised to see familiar faces leading by example in such a humble but powerful way.
