Flash Flood Alert in force for Western Division as TC Urmil remains away from Fiji
A Flash Flood Alert is now in force for the Western Division, from Sigatoka to Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure associated with cloud and showers remains slow-moving over Fiji.

A Category 2 Tropical Cyclone Urmil lies over Vanuatu and is expected to move southeast, passing to the southwest of Fiji, however, no direct land threat has been reported at this stage.

People living in flood-prone areas are urged to be prepared for heavy rain, flooding and strong winds.

Meanwhile, a Heavy Rain Warning is now in force for the Western Division, the Yasawa Islands and Mamanuca Islands, Kadavu Province and nearby smaller islands.

A Heavy Rain Alert is also in force for Macuata Province and the Northern Division of Bua Province.

The Weather Office says localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
