Feng, Dai and Lan's counsel objects to consolidation of cases

Feng, Dai and Lan's counsel objects to consolidation of cases
The counsel for drug accused Yu Yang Feng, Minghui Dai and Zhou Lan has objected to the consolidation of their cases with two other drug-related cases.
Feng, Dai, and Lan were produced in the Suva Magistrates Court today, each charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
It is alleged that the three were found with 39.509 grams of methamphetamine at Flagstaff.
Their counsel Lavenia Bogitini told the court that the issue today was for the consolidation of the matter with two other cases, but they are objecting to it.
She also told the court about an alleged assault on her client, Yu Yeng Feng, which she had raised a few months ago.
Bogitini says it has been hard to get approval from the Fiji Corrections Service to visit her clients in the Remand Centre.
Bogitini also raised the concern that her client, Minghui Dai, has been experiencing skin rashes and irritation, and was seen by the Corrections Medical Officer; however, the rashes still persist.
The court allowed Bogitini to file her submissions by this Friday, and the case will be called again on January 7, 2026.
Meanwhile, Lagomarcino Baules, Ginna Choi, and Peniasi Delai, who are jointly charged with the unlawful possession of 0.345 grams of methamphetamine, have been further remanded.
Baules, Choi, and Delai were produced this morning at the Suva Magistrates’ Court, charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
Flagstaff drug accused Joshua Ravula and Ying Qing Qing have also been further remanded.
They are charged with one count each of illicit drug possession, where it is alleged they were found with 42.9 grams of methamphetamine at the Yue Lai Hotel in October.
Both the cases have been adjourned to the 14th of January, 2026.
