As the fight against drugs intensifies in Fiji, the Minister for Policing and Communications, Ioane Naivalurua continued his direct engagement with faith leaders yesterday.

He met with the President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Reverend Epeli Saukuru in Lami, and the General Superintendent of the New Methodist Church, Pastor Atunaisa Vulaono in Toorak.

These visits are part of a broader initiative to strengthen partnerships between the Government and churches in support of nation building and community safety.

This follows earlier meetings with the President of the Methodist Church in Fiji.

Discussions during these meetings focused on enhancing collaboration between the Government, the Fiji Police Force, and churches to advance the Government’s strategic priorities.

Naivalurua also conveyed the Government’s appreciation, on behalf of the Fiji Police Force, for the vital role churches continue to play in shaping values, strengthening families, and supporting crime prevention efforts within communities.
