New Zealand-based lawyer Rajendra Chaudhry has been found guilty of professional misconduct and the case now moves to penalties.

Chaudhry was found guilty by the Independent Legal Services Commission for posting comments on social media that unfairly denigrated three Fiji Court of Appeal judges.

Chaudhry on the 9th of March, 2018 had described the judges as “lackeys of the regime” in relation to a case.

Commissioner Justice Daniel Goundar while delivering the ruling highlighted that the language used crossed the line.

14 days have been given to file submissions on mitigation.
