Calls are being made for shared responsibility in addressing drug-related issues facing the country.
Members of the public turned up in numbers to support the Drug Free Fiji March that began from Suva Flea Market to Albert Park.
The streets of Suva were filled with blue as individuals, families, and community groups came together in a powerful show of commitment to building a safer, healthier, and drug-free future for all Fijians.
Staff of the Ministry of Justice also took part in the march, with Assistant Minister Ratu Josaia Niudamu present to show the Government’s support for this important initiative.
His attendance reaffirmed the Government’s position that addressing drug-related challenges is not solely the responsibility of law enforcement agencies, but a shared social responsibility that requires collective action.
The event was organised by Aisea Volavola, and it went beyond awareness-raising, delivering a clear message about empowering everyday citizens to take an active role in the fight against drugs.
Volavola stressed that real change starts at home, underscoring the importance of grassroots efforts where families and communities lead prevention initiatives.
The Ministry of Justice commends the organisers and participants for their commitment and encourages continued community-driven action to protect the well-being of the nation.
