Cakaudrove's Manutabu Women’s Club boosted with equipment for homestay initiative

Women in Biaugunu Village, Saqani, Cakaudrove are expected to benefit from new income opportunities after essential equipment was handed over to the Manutabu Women’s Club to support its homestay project.

The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection says it continues to advance women’s economic empowerment in rural communities through targeted support for sustainable and community-led livelihood initiatives, in alignment with the Fiji Women’s Economic Empowerment National Action Plan (WEE NAP) 2025–2030.

The initiative is expected to create sustainable income opportunities for women while providing accommodation services for government officials, development partners, visitors, and travellers visiting the Saqani area.

While handing over the equipment, Divisional Women’s Interest Officer Ilivani Seruvatu highlighted the importance of accountability, sustainability, and effective project management.

She also shared information on the Ministry’s six-month project monitoring process to assess the progress, impact, and sustainability of the initiative.

The Ministry says this assistance reflects the Government’s continued commitment to empowering rural, remote, and maritime women through entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive economic development.
