The Head Priest of the Samabula Sikh Temple, Sandeep Singh says Baisakhi is being celebrated today as one of the most important and significant days for Sikhs around the world, marking the teachings and legacy of the 10th Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj.
He says Guru Gobind Singh introduced a new way of life and taught values that remain relevant for all humanity, including compassion, generosity, kindness, self-discipline, courage, faith and sacrifice.
Singh emphasised that kindness should extend beyond families to all living beings.
He also highlighted Guru’s teachings on social justice and equality, saying that standing up for religious freedom, human rights, and freedom of speech is a core part of Sikh values.
