Fiji's healthcare logistics has received a boost as a $143,000 donation made by the Australia Fiji Health Program was presented to the Fiji Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services.

This donation was facilitated by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Chief Medical Advisor Dr Luisa Cikamatana emphasises that this donation, which includes a forklift, laptops, trolleys, and 14,000 saline IV solutions, is set to significantly strengthen Fiji's healthcare logistics.

She further explains that the equipment will drive tangible improvements, stressing the forklift will enhance warehouse efficiency, the trolleys will ensure safe order fulfilment, and the laptops will advance crucial procurement digitisation plans.

Dr Cikamatana adds that the saline solutions will immediately address a critical clinical shortage, directly supporting patient care.

She expresses gratitude for the partnership, highlighting existing progress and ambitious digital futures.

During the handover, DFAT’s Senior Program Manager for Health, Dr Frances Bingwor, emphasised that the donation would ensure reliable medical supplies reach those in need, creating a lasting impact on Fiji's healthcare system.

Dr Bingwor stresses that the collaboration underscores a shared dedication to strengthening Fiji's medical infrastructure through practical support and innovation.
