Apisai Madigibuli, who is accused of killing his wife at an apartment complex along Robertson Road in Suva in April, 2024 has stressed in court that he will be representing himself in the trial.
Madigibuli is charged with one count of murder.
He questioned the court on why a Legal Aid Commission counsel was present.
High Court Judge Justice Dane Tuiqereqere says Madigibuli has been charged with a serious crime and he has given the protection of a lawyer to be present to help him.
Justice Tuiqreqere says Madigibuli can exercise the choice of asking the Legal Aid lawyer or not.
Madigibuli also told the court that he will not be calling any witnesses.
The trial will begin on the 6th of April.
The matter has been adjourned to the 3rd of March for Pre-Trial Conference.
