All Fiji National University campuses are closed tomorrow following advisories from the Fiji Meteorological Service and the National Disaster Management Office.
FNU Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba says they are taking this action in the interest of the safety and well-being of students and staff.
She says lecturers and course coordinators have been requested to liaise closely with their students regarding their classes.
Nabobo-Baba says all staff are requested to work from home and remain in communication with their respective supervisors.
She adds students and staff are reminded to take necessary precautionary measures and to adhere to weather advisories issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service, the National Disaster Management Office, and other relevant ministries.
The Vice-Chancellor says those residing in low-lying and flood-prone areas are advised to remain vigilant, move to higher ground if necessary, and familiarise themselves with evacuation centres, emergency contacts, and preparedness plans.
Nabobo-Baba says the FNU Emergency Response Team will remain on standby to respond to any incidents or emergencies during this period.
