Act now to save our youth from drugs, time for blame is over - Reverend Kolivuso
Christian Mission Fellowship Faith Harvest Church's Reverend Manasa Kolivuso

The time for blame regarding the drug crisis in our country is over, and action must start immediately.

These are the words of Christian Mission Fellowship Faith Harvest Church's Reverend Manasa Kolivuso during the National Pastoral Response To Drugs meeting organised by the Fiji Council of Churches.

He warns that united action is needed to avoid losing the next iTaukei generation.

Reverend Kolivuso highlighted the growing use of methamphetamine and fentanyl, and the rise in HIV transmission linked to needle sharing.

Reverend Kolivuso says this is no longer just a matter of national security — it is about national survival.

He shared past efforts by the church, including a week-long awareness campaign for primary and secondary school students and providing safe spaces for recovering addicts.

But he stressed that isolated efforts are not enough.

He says what we need is a holistic national approach — churches, government, civil society, and the Vanua working together.

Reverend Kolivuso also calls for stronger law enforcement and legal reforms, saying the crisis must be tackled through both education and enforcement.

He says that with God, nothing is impossible.

The Reverend says the reality on the ground is alarming, but everyone must act now to save the youth and protect the communities.
