World Swimming Championship: Moss secures 3-second PB, comes in 3rd place in 100m freestyle heat

Team Fiji Swimmer Marseleima Moss had a perfect start to her World Aquatics Swimming Championship campaign after clocking 1.48 minutes in the Women’s 100m freestyle heat in Budapest, Hungary last night.

This has seen her secure a 3-second personal best time and coming in 3rd place in her heat.

Moss is currently ranked 63rd in the world rankings.

Meanwhile, Fiji men’s swimmer Hansel McCaig had a brilliant swim in the Men’s 100m freestyle heat, coming in tied for 6th place with a time of 50.46 seconds.

Unfortunately, McCaig missed out on setting a personal best time.

David Young, also known as Tolu, dominated his heat, completing the 50m butterfly event with an impressive time of 23.11 seconds to secure a first-place ranking.

His standout performance on day one solidified Fiji’s presence as a force to be reckoned with on the world stage.

The Championship will continue tonight.
