Following reports that there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases at workplaces, the Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong says they expect owners and senior executives of workplaces to take appropriate action.
We are seeing a constant increase in COVID cases recently with the Health Ministry recording 158 cases from Tuesday to Thursday last week.
As a result of this, the Health Ministry has reinstated masking and screening in hospitals and health centres around the country.
When questioned if people can expect the masking mandate to be brought back into the public space, Dr Fong says they have to keep the faith that people understand what they need to do when the disease begins to escalate.
He says the Police Commissioner has already given a directive on practicing COVID safe measures and the Ministry expects other people who hold similar positions of leadership to do the same.
