A woman in her 40s has passed away in a house fire in Mulau Rakiraki late last night.
Police say the home belonged to a 41-year-old carrier driver.
The National Fire Authority says the man and his 13-year-old son escaped unharmed, however, the woman was allegedly trapped inside.
A joint investigation between Police and the National Fire Authority is underway.
