Why there is a lack of compassion by the Govt for people from Veiraisi, who are facing eviction - Tabuya
The Peoples' Alliance Deputy Leader, Lynda Tabuya speaking to party members and supporters at the party rally held at Rishikul yesterday.

Deputy Leader of the People’s Alliance, Lynda Tabuya says many people are asking why there is a lack of compassion by the Government for the people from Veiraisi Settlement in Nadera who are facing eviction and their homes are being torn down.

Tabuya says when she shared her visit to the settlement on her social media page, it was shared almost 2,500 times and viewed by almost half a million people.

Tabuya says the comments were overwhelmingly about the lack of compassion shown and people are questioning why love has gone cold and where is the love for our neighbour.

She also says in Fiji, humanity, kindness, compassion and love are under attack and it has become a crime to be kind.

She adds that Fijian leaders need to be driven by compassion, kindness, forgiveness, humility and love.

She further says that Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum used the word papi in the news to describe the People's Alliance.

Tabuya says this is a very demeaning word in Hindi which means sinner.

She says their party leader leads with compassion, forgiveness and love.

Tabuya further says their party leader launched their key message for elections on Friday, to let love shine.

She says she is inspired by the celebration of Diwali which is a victory of good over evil and light over darkness.

Tabuya says the universal message in any holy scripture, whether it is the Holy Bible, the Holy Quran, or the Ramayana is to love our neighbour as we love ourselves.
