Parents of certain school students in the Central Division have raised concerns about the number of exercise books that are used for their children in primary schools.
This has come to light after a parent bought 18 exercise books for her daughter who is in Year 5 at a particular school in Suva.
She says her nephew was asked to get 11 exercise books although he is in the same class but in a different school.
Sisilia Rabitu says she wants to know what is the standard book list given by the Ministry of Education for children in primary schools.
She says buying books for her children is not a problem as it is a worthy investment but they want to understand why they need to buy 18 books.
She says she has called the Ministry and they were alarmed by the amount of books that have been told to buy.
We have sent questions to the Ministry of Education and they are yet to respond.
