We will provide more assistance to all affected clubs whose root crops were damaged - Bala

Minister for Employment, Parveen Bala says he wants to assure that they will provide more assistance to all those affected clubs whose root crops were damaged after the assessment is carried out.

Bala says they will also seek support from the Ministry of Agriculture in terms of technical assistance.

He made these comments while handing over farming materials to the Qelema Youth Club in Dubalevu Settlement in Nadroga/Navosa.

Bala says they have been identifying the needs of youths throughout the country to keep them engaged and find out the challenges that they face.

He has also commended the members of the Qelema Youth Club who have continuously engaged themselves in social work and attended their individual farm during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bala adds the youth club, and its advisor was able to secure 5 acres of mataqali land to be cultivated and utilized.

The Minister for Employment says since the commencement of Youth Farm Initiative, they have assisted 294 registered youth clubs.
