We will play for our struggling parents at home - QVS under 18 Captain and head boy

The Queen Victoria School’s under-18 rugby side is heading into this weekend’s Vodafone Super Deans quarter finals with one mindset and that is to play for their parents who try to overcome their respective struggles just to provide for their sons.

Captain and Head Boy Anare Lalabalavu says seeing the hardships their parents are facing at home and trying to support their sons who are in school and also go out of their way to come to support them in their games every weekend is something that will be driving the boys when they take on Marist Brothers High School. An emotional Lalabalavu says with the little that the parents have, they always make sure to bring it to school and share it with the team. He says the support from the QVS Old Boys has been overwhelming as well.

He further says they are aware that Marist are giant slayers and will bring their A-game this week but there is no pressure as he believes the boys have what it takes to come out with a win.

QVS will take on Marist at 3.55pm tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium.

In other under 18 games, Nasinu Secondary School plays Tailevu North College at 11.40am, Ratu Kadavulevu School will meet Cuvu College at 1.05pm and MGM High will take on Ratu Navula College at 2.30pm.
