People living along Suva-Nausori corridor should store water now as they will be facing supply disruption from 7 this evening till 4am tomorrow.

Water Authority of Fiji says their teams will be carrying out operational works this afternoon on the Wainibuku system to sustain water levels for tomorrow morning.

They say this is temporary and allows WAF to attend to a clear water pump failure at Waila which is scheduled to be completed tomorrow.

Affected areas include upper Davuilevu, elevated areas of Nakasi, Farm Road, Naulu, Koronivia, Maqbool/Mandir, Tovata, elevated areas, Tuirara/Makoi, Qaranivalu Road, elevated areas of Tovata, Poorva Road, Lomalagi Road, Vula Road, Pritam Singh Road and Kalokalo Crescent, Makoi West, Vatuyalewa , Upper Caubati, Veikoba and Kalivetau.

Davuilevu Housing resident, Rishaal Kumar says WAF has once again given a short notice to store water.

He says people will now be filling their buckets and bottles so the pressure will be low.

Kumar says had they been given more time, they would not have low pressure now.

WAF also says that in light of the current rain experienced in the water catchment, the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant production is reduced to maintain treatable conditions.

Areas affected include Tamavua, Upper Delainavesi, Valenicina, Qauia and Lovers Lane, Kalekana, Panoramic, Waiqanake and Osonabukete.
