Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says there are, unfortunately, some media outlets, politicians, and individuals who care more about politicising COVID-19 than wanting to know and tell the truth.

He made these comments on his official Facebook page, after posting a picture of a Viber conversation where he was notified about a Fiji Times article which talked about a family of 7 in lockdown from Waila Housing who are surviving on bele and roti.

A woman messaged Sayed-Khaiyum on Viber and claimed that the article was false as they had received rations three times.

Sayed-Khaiyum says fortunately there is a silent majority who are doing their part in a positive manner and know and understand that a unified national approach is critical to beat the ill effects of this virus.

He adds the woman is responsible and he considers her brave.

We have sent questions to the Fiji Times and are awaiting their response.
