Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka has made it clear that the current water problems can be fixed in the next 5 to 7 years.
As residents along the Lami-Suva-Nausori corridor face disruptions to water supply due to lack of rainfall, Rabuka says the Water Authority of Fiji is working hard to get water to the affected areas.
Rabuka says if the water level goes below a certain line at the pumping stations, they will not be able to pump water and it will burn it.
He says at the moment, they first have to provide first aid and use carting options to bring water to the affected areas which has been badly affected by road conditions.
Rabuka says the affected areas are informal settlements where roads are not big enough to handle tankers.
