Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa says living in this age with government policies in place, children are better advantaged but the role of students, parents and teachers is to ensure that government’s efforts does not go to waste.

She highlighted this while handling over library books and a sewing machine to the teachers and students of Seventh Day Adventist Primary School.

Vuniwaqa says it was not easy for parents and children in the past as children were missing school because parents could not pay for their bus fare.

Vuniwaqa also told the students that she keeps reminding their officers on the ground that they can have the qualification to hold positions in government but if they do not have compassion, all will come to nought.

She says that one of the greatest strength that she has seen in the delivery of services in the ministry is their partnership with non-government organizations.
