The villagers of Vunivau in Labasa have been raising the need to relocate their village for the past six years, yet nothing has been done by the government.
This has been highlighted by the Head of the Qawa Clan, Adi Losalini Yalayalamaikali to fijivillage News while highlighting the recent flooding in the village.
Adi Losalini says their village is prone to flooding.
She says any rainfall causes flooding in the village, which is a serious concern as it damages property and affects their livelihoods.
The 52-year-old says during flooding, children are unable to attend school, and working adults cannot cross the road.
She says both the FijiFirst Government and the Coalition Government are aware of their concerns but have continued to ignore their needs.
Adi Losalini adds that the clan has agreed to relocation concerning their future generations.
