Vunivalu misses out on selection for final Queensland Reds’ 2025 Super Rugby Pacific squad

Former NRL star and Wallabies winger Suliasi Vunivalu will not feature for the Queensland Reds for the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season after his name was dropped from the final 40-member squad.

Reports say that the 28-year-old is expected to depart Australia for the French Top 14 competition.

Vunivalu's high-profile code switch from rugby league’s Melbourne Storm, with whom he won two NRL titles, drew plenty of eyes back in 2021.

However, the Fijian-born flyer never quite found his feet in the 15-a-side game, battling injuries and form.

Vunivalu was snubbed by Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt to the extent that he failed to even be named in a 30-man Australia XV squad – a second-string national contingent for this month’s matches against Bristol and England A.
